well this gadis kampung series is really my venue to complain about the fact that m a kampung girl.

i might be yeah ..you know liberal, cosmopolitan and blah blah blah but i still have to eat the fact m a kampung girl and need to bend down to the abiding norms of my kampung.

“you should think of what your kampung people will think about your words, your actions, who your friends are, and blah blah blah………”

yesterday, a friend of mine came all the way from new york to my city. so, it’s just normal you know if i wanted to take him to my home, you know taking him around. but i could not do it! no, i may not do it!

oh how i wish i were a boy. truly! i could take just any friends home. there would be no bruahaha.

but i may not do it. you know, a 7.9 magnitude earthquake did not prompt me to have a breakdown at all. but this restriction (of me cannot take my friends who happen to be male) home really sets me in tears. it hurts my pride.

if my brother can do it, why can’t i? if my brother is allowed to go home late, why can’t i?

and

i plan to go backpacking traveling thru sumatra and java in february with a pal (who happens to be a boy) and i believe everybody in the family will say “NO”

it’s my money and it’s my body but still the answer is “NO” no matter how i convince them that i do not copulate with just any man i meet! i m sure i know the do’s and the don’ts of being me. my records is clean you know.

how i wish i were a boy.

how i regret going home after all.

how i wish i could leave soon.

i don’t plan to post anything serious during this idul fitri festivity mood, but this story really makes me sit my ass down and log in to my wordpress account.

you know i really can’t stand stupidity! Read the article taken from the jakarta globe below if you want to know what i mean:

Indonesian Vigilantes Prepare For Battle in Malaysia

At this moment in Jakarta, a group of Indonesians are putting the final touches to their plan to invade Malaysia and wage war. Benteng Demokrasi Rakyat has announced Oct. 8 as the date of this D-day, when it says it will avenge all the wrongs committed against Indonesia by its neighbor .

Established during this year’s presidential election, the group, also known as the People’s Democratic Defense, has attracted public attention with its protests calling on Indonesians to “kill Malaysians.” Earlier this month, the group set up roadblocks in Menteng, Central Jakarta, in an attempt to detain Malaysian citizens.

However, the roadblocks failed to net any Malaysians, according to Mustar Bona Ventura, the group’s coordinator. “If we had caught them, we would have sent them home,” the 32-year-old economics student said.

He said the group’s anti-Malaysian stance was not motivated solely by claims that the neighboring country has been busy stealing Indonesia’s culture.

“It’s the whole thing, including the claims on our islands and the abusive treatment of Indonesian migrant workers,” he said. “The breaking point was when they insulted us through our national anthem, ‘Indonesia Raya.’ ”

Tensions between the neighboring countries have reached a fever pitch this year due to unresolved sovereignty claims in the Ambalat waters; accusations that Malaysia has claimed Indonesian cultural heritage as its own, including the Balinese pendet dance, various dishes and batik; a recent offensive parody of Indonesia’s national anthem; and the abuse of Indonesian migrant workers in Malaysia.

Mustar said Bendera had already recruited more than 1,200 members and expects to sign up at least 300 more. The group said it recruited 600 volunteers in Greater Jakarta alone last week.

“People from all sorts of backgrounds came and registered,” he said. “We have students, farmers, lawyers, fishermen, teachers and many more. Disabled people also signed up.”

The group reportedly has 40 recruits who are deaf, 10 with limb deformities and 10 who are confined to wheelchairs.

Bendera’s seeming enthusiasm for conflict and claims that the planned invasion is going forward is contrary to government warnings: Teuku Faizasyah, a spokesman for the Foreign Affairs Ministry, has said the group’s members won’t get anywhere near Malaysia.

“If there are any Indonesian nationals who are intending to go to Malaysia for a confrontation, they will be arrested. It will be impossible for them to enter the country,” he said.

However, Mustar said that self-defense training and black magic spells designed to protect the troops had already been provided, with 150 members taking part in two sessions held at Bendera’s headquarters. The offices are located on Jalan Diponegoro in Menteng, Central Jakarta, an address that was formerly used as the headquarters for the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P).

“This [training] is to support our people, and we have also armed them with weapons that volunteers donated, such as samurai swords, ninja sticks and sharpened bamboo sticks,” Mustar said. “We really meant it when we said we were going to deploy [troops] to Malaysia to fight them on [Octoer 8].”

Asked how they intended to get their weapons through airport security, Mustar said, “It’s just a matter of technique. But of course we’re not telling you how.” He added that the cost of traveling to Malaysia was being covered by each individual.

He said the group had earlier sent letters to President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and the Malaysian Embassy in Jakarta containing its list of demands.

“First, we asked the government to close the Malaysian Embassy here and send all the country’s citizens back home. Second, the government should close our embassy there and send home all the Indonesian migrant workers.

“And last of all, we demanded that the government declare war against Malaysia.”

Single mother Yuni said she felt it was her duty to help Indonesia protect its cultural heritage from Malaysia and to stand up for the rights of abused migrant workers. Just last month, she registered as a volunteer for Bendera and said she was ready to go to Malaysia to join the war, even if that meant leaving her three children behind in Pandeglang, West Java.

“Malaysia stole our islands and insulted our national anthem. As a citizen, I am called to participate [in the war],” she said.

She said that if the Indonesian government and military failed to take action, it was up to citizens to take over. “My will is strong for saving our beloved Indonesia,” the 40-year-old said. “I’m not afraid of anything.”

Another recruit, Endo Kosasih, echoed her sentiments, saying he was not afraid to die if he had to go to the battle zone.

“It will be the same if you die now or tomorrow,” the 26-year-old said. “I am brave.”

Like his fellow Bendera members, Endo took part in the self-defense training course. He also learned how to shoot a bow and arrow, and said his aim had become quite accurate.

Endo said he had the support of his family and was determined to join the troops going to Malaysia so he could defend the motherland.

“We don’t want our nation to be harassed, our culture to be stolen or [the lyrics of] our national anthem to be twisted,” Endo said.

Mustar said the group had already sent 10 people to Malaysia, to conduct reconnaissance and draw up battle plans. “You could say they are our spies,” he said.

And on Oct. 8, Mustar continued, 1,500 Bendera troops will leave for Malaysia by air, land and sea, although he refused to elaborate. The group also plans to deploy a second batch of troops at a later stage, he said, adding that Bendera would work with Indonesian migrant workers and students in Malaysia to help boost its numbers.

“And once we get there, we will fight furiously in an open war with the Malaysians. Just like the wars you’ve seen on TV,” he said. “For us, Malaysia has really crossed the line.

“And if our government has no courage, then [it is time] we start a war.”

Volunteer Sugeng Widodo plans to leave his wife, who is four months pregnant, should the group call upon him.

“I prioritize my country,” the father of two said. “My wife and children breathe the air of this country. That’s why [I prioritize it].”

Back home in Klaten, Central Java, 37-year-old Sugeng is a farmer but said he had been trained in Jakarta to use arrows and spears. He said Bendera members would also be trained in the use of guns.

He said he was determined to fight and would stay in Malaysia until the issue of Indonesian ownership in the Ambalat waters was resolved.

“We see how our migrant workers are treated and the government doesn’t do anything about it,” he said. “Every citizen has the right to be protected.

“I will fight until the last drop of my blood. That is what I will do to defend my country.”

Asked what the group would do if the planned invasion on Oct. 8 failed, Mustar said they would evaluate and then go back to the drawing board. The main priority, he said, would be to demand the Malaysian government publicly apologize to all Indonesians.

However, he said he was optimistic that nothing would stop the invasion, not even the Indonesian government, and that everything would go according to plan.

“Indonesia will win! Indonesia will win!” he said.

I only have one sentence for them: ARE YOU NUTS?

sigh, these people are really a complete joke. What a disgrace.

I just stumbled upon this and this and  this .

I…..simply cannot say anything. It’s not that I promote adultery but…..I am at lost of words.

Why…..do we go back to the medieval age? I am not Acehnese but I respect their culture and their way of life but stoning adulterers to death is not acceptable at all.

Which one is more important? Moral or life, the right to live, the right to improve the self, the right to choices. What has happened to them, people?

I am no moralist. I am not religious. I only pray five times a day without performing any additional prayers to get more reward. I just fast during Ramadhan. I even never  give alms to any beggars begging their way to me. I have no sympathy at all.

But to impose such a cruel death to human being is …i hardly able to digest it.

This corporal punishment, does it make everything better, holier?

where is justice? where is commonsense? where is benevolence? Compassion, where art thou? humanity, are you there?

So, what will happened to me supposed when my cousin tried to rape, he did i

God, do you really there? Have you died?

life in padang is really anal lately. i have needed to come to terms with constant tremors for the last two weeks. now, i need to live in constant darkness since the PLN, our one and only and STATE OWNED energy supplier,  keeps sending us endless backlash of blackout.

total blackout ladies and gentlement!!!

for the last three days i’ve been living in the age of darkness,  no electricity which translates to: no clean water; no ironed clothes; no hair dryer; nothing to do to charge my laptop and hand phone; internet is scarce; no enough time to blog!

i think the major, the president, the …. or whoever in charge should think about this and solve whatever problem they have in providing enough energy  or i will really out my mind because i CAN’T BLOG.

COME ON Sir ..i m a good tax payer and i have the right to complain. electricity is my basic need.

Give me back my listrik….

this post will be started with the word: penetration.

well, whatever association you may have about that word, just wait and read until the end of this post why i start this post with “penetration”.

——————————————————————————————————————————————————-

i came to university this morning swollen eyes and carrying the trace of a whole night sobbing.

someone’s died this week. yes michael jackson has passed away, but it was not his death which prompted me to cry. someone’s mother died this week. she is a somebody’s wife and the grandmother of ten cute little garrulous children. the dead lady was the mother of a senior lady lecturer and the wife of that lady’s father who has also been  lecturing at my department for the last fifty years. for your information, they’ve been married for almost a half century. when we came to his house  to pay our last respect to the deceased, he looked so distraught. what a gentlemen! he cried while telling us and re-telling us how he has passed so many ups and downs with the wife.

it was really a mourning morning.

i was mourning myself: not for her death but for my shattered dream.

—————————————————————————————————————————————————-

no. not yet. the penetration part will not appear in lines to come. please be patient.

—————————————————————————————————————————————————-

i’ve been waiting for this chance to come for months. i’ve bought my ticket, two ways. i was supposed to fly to KL yesterday  but for one thing i will not disclose in this post i am still in padang now, choked with tears.

crying for six days in a row is apparently the way how i express this biggest disappointment of the semester. up to this very time i am typing my post, i still refuse to pick up any call from just anybody sending a sheer panic to my family back home in bukittinggi. i know they will ask me to stop mourning. some kid sisters called me “stupid” to cry over things which have made me cry. one of them simply asked “where is my jagoan sister?” a friend heartlessly commanded me to “forget it”.

i, delvi wahyuni, am still powerless to stop these tears drops from rolling on my cheeks. i am broken. nelangsa, that’s how my national tongue term it.

Ancient Horace said carpe diem quam minimum credula postero. yes, i am afraid tomorrow will betray me. that’s way i had to fly to KL yesterday. but i didn’t. now i become more afraid that tomorrow will betray me.

this sadness eats me up inside. i even cried when watching our final presidential debate. feeling sober.

i’ve come to few funeral this weeks. so many deaths. that’s why i had to fly to KL yesterday but i didn’t. i pray hard tomorrows will have no slightest idea to betray me. my heavily made up eyes can never hide my sorrow.

—————————————————————————————————————————————————-

so, why does this post start with penetration?

—————————————————————————————————————————————————-

yesterday, when we were preparing to go to the just-being-left-by-life-wife senior lecturer, four of us were busy chatting in front of the office pantry. so, this boy, a teaching assistant had been missing for sometimes and appeared again yesterday to join us to the mourning house (is it the calling?) that day. he told us he did not turn out for almost two weeks because his doc diagnosed him with  dengue symptom. in short, he had to get some rest to recover.

inevitably, my wretchedness (for missing my flight to KL) did not deter my mischievous speech.

“so boy, the mosquito was successful to penetrate your skin huh?!!” i said coolly.

i felt cool but, the two ladies, one’s married and the other used to be so, jumped to the ceiling hearing me pronouncing pen-i-treyt.

“ah delvi! what a word u use! penetration is the ending act in making love”, she said whispering.

the other lady looked at me with amazement how a delvi, an anak perawan (i mean, unmarried) could mouth such a taboo word.

the boy also looked a bit frazzled with the word i’d just uttered.

for those who could not imagine how amazed they were with the word i used, here is the best physical description i could present”

the three of them stared at me. of course their eyes were widely open as did their mouth. this physical condition lasted for at least ten seconds and only after that a lady broke the ice by whispering to me the sexual association of that word. she then sat in one of the chair near the pantry and gulped her iced water.

i stayed cool and defended my choice of word. i reasoned that penetration does not have to be  necessarily associated with the act of sexual intercourse (again they looked at me with amazement upon hearing another taboo- should-be-pronounced-in-whispering-mode word). i told them to listen to the football commentators when they give their skillful comments on how the first half-time of the match is. “they will shamelessly say: Kaka did a lot of penetration attempts into the heavily guarded centre field of Internaziole bla bla bla..see…..there is nothing wrong with my choice of word”, i showed them my wry ear to ear grin.

—————————————————————————————————————————————————–

ah! but i don’t see the word penetration fit anywhere  in your long winded, emotionally laced post of how sorrowful you are!

—————————————————————————————————————————————————-

yes! the fact that i m not going to KL has  shrouded me with agony. look at my swollen eyes. have some mercy on me please! could not eat. going thru sleepless nights six days in a row! gosh billy bob joe!! i’ll be dead soon if not plotting to beat tomorrow so it could never betray me! i need to win or i’ll die.

i badly need some supports to stand up but the whole world seems not to understand me. or is it me who cannot emulate well on what i want?

—————————————————————————————————————————————————–

oh ja? but what does it has to do with penetration?

—————————————————————————————————————————————————–

okay. because robert herrick has just risen from his grave and created so many impersonates in my facebook or yahoo messenger account and in my kampung. they, in unison, spit this line:

GATHER ye rosebuds while ye may,
Old time is still a-flying :
And this same flower that smiles to-day
To-morrow will be dying.

The glorious lamp of heaven, the sun,
The higher he’s a-getting,
The sooner will his race be run,
And nearer he’s to setting.

That age is best which is the first,
When youth and blood are warmer ;
But being spent, the worse, and worst
Times still succeed the former.

Then be not coy, but use your time,
And while ye may go marry :
For having lost but once your prime
You may for ever tarry.

what i hate about this is they take the poem literally. what more? being a perawan, a maiden, limits my space and freedom.  i cannot wear certain color of lipstick coz only married ladies are culturally allowed to used it (i never bring my red classic lipstick to bukittinggi “or else” mom said); i even may not say “penetration”!

hope now you get it why i start this post with  penetration!

beaten-maid2

i dedicate this provocative title to this lady. (this post is also dedicated to the lady in this pic and all people who suffered injustice just because their professional job is become a maid)

huh! another maid was beaten by her employer. this is an unknown story then, especially when this bestiality happen to take place in malaysia. everybody know, we, indonesia, is the biggest supplier for maid to that neighbor country of ours (as if the maids are commodities and you are free to beat them as though they are hordes of cattle).

i don’t say that they, those malaysian, are maid killer or hostile toward indonesian. but i heard this sad story too often;  it’s either the maids are beaten, tortured, extorted, exploited, raped…..other grim things. and because lots of indonesian maids there, so there is high possibility that  the victim of this cruelty  is indonesian.

well whoever they are, indonesian, filipinos, thais, indians, bangladeshis, pakistanis, nepalese, myanmaris, vietnamese, cambodians, WHOEVER…those maids do NOT  deserve this barbarity. then whoever you are, yes you murderous  maid EMPLOYERS,  where ever you are, you cannot, you have no for god’s sake fucking right to treat them that way.

they are people, mind you, HUMAN BEING.. with the same dignity as what you fucking asshole have.

god i am so mad here. MAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i have kept this matter for months!

i can’t keep it no longer!

i need to pour my heart!

i need to scream!

i have to stage a demo!

yes!

a strike!

my uni, i mean those IT people, yes those moralists, they block any websites which contains the word ’sex, sexual, porn naked, nude, and sexy’.

oh how stupid, oh how ignorant oh gawd how imbecilic these people.

they’re supposed to block websites not words, oh puerile dumb ass.

WEBSITES NOT WORDS PUH-LEZE

i really needed to find the a poem entitled ‘the naked and the nude’ but I COULD NOT coz they block it and direct me to the website of the uni, the biggest porn site in the world then. i failed in my mid-term test.

i really needed some internet sources on pre-marital sex so that i can lecture my student to play safe but i I COULD NOT coz they block it and direct me to the website of the uni, the biggest porn site in the world then. my students are getting pregnant without knowing how to deal with their predicament and why they get pregnant.

i really needed to find an article on asexual reproduction of a sea monkey but I COULD NOT coz they block it and direct me to the website of the uni, the biggest porn site in the world. i got F for my presentation.

i really needed to retrieve a journal discussing about sex/t coz a colleague prof of mine want to write a paper on language, gender and feminism but I COULD NOT coz they block it and direct me to the website of the uni, the biggest porn site in the world. she could not join the seminar coz she was late to send the abstract.

ah so gullible these people. i’ve asked what is this blocking business all about. they say its about MORAL.

IT IS ABOUT FILTERING THE MORAL OF THE STUDENTS (i don’t even get what they mean with this sentence. it’s verbatim you know)

ah moral. moral! moral? mooooooooooooooooraaaaaal? moral for stupid people my ass then (god i need to watch my language)

—————————————————————————————————————————————————

TIPS FOR STUDENTS WHO WANTS TO SURF PORN SITES AT UNI

1. Do not type sex my dear but intercourse on your search engine. Once you’ve done that, brace your breath for the wildest picture you could see.

2. If you are not successful, try to type fornication. Failed? Try copulation then. Still unsuccessful? Why don’t you try coitus! Nah, it’s easy, no?

3. If tips number two does not work, you may try this last resort. Find the translation of sexual intercourse in languages other than indonesian and English. Say in Arabic. Don’t forget to say Bismillah so that God will bless your try my child.

—————————————————————————————————————————————————

see I SAY WEBSITES NOT WORDS!

How can i forgive this stupidity oh privolity.

O dear death please taketh this stupidity away. amen

just got back from a long hour of crazy karaoke  and i found this and this in the jakarta post.  i feel like -looooooong-sigh.

i am fully aware of these kids’ concerns for the plight of the palestinians. i loath israel myself for this year most exaggerating reaction to a bite of an ant and i really don’t know what to say about america for (willingly) failing to discipline her most important ally in the middle east.

but kids…………

“We will conduct raids targeting American products in Tasikmalaya if the government does not meet our demands,”

oh god al mighty, is it  the proper way to solve the problem? it sounds like: mother i will burn this house  if you don’t let me marry the man i love. it is also like you bomb bali to destroy america and her allies.

YOU MISS THE TARGET KIDDO!!!

what is the point of raiding mcdonald’s or kfc, or cfc, or texas chicken, or aw or coca cola or levi’s or ford, or starbucks or pizza hut or ……..the list continues…….

are you mad? do you know what the consequences of your action are. it is a crime you know raiding someone’s property without the authority to do so. what d’ya  learn at school i am asking you?  do your teachers teach u so?

kids, if you do so, you are no better than these israeli war lords who raid the rightful property of the palestinians. do u get what i mean?

if you want to really help please do something violence free. what you’ve done or plan to do to these so called american products  is barbarous  you know. it will never ease the tension. it will put some more tense in the already intensifying tensions.

what are u going to do next? conducting a full sweep on americans in your place?

staging a rally against  this seems-not-to-end massacre is good.  i will join you if i were there. screaming at the top of your voice condemning this attack on the defenceless civilians is definitely not a crime.

but raids? it’s a big no.

sigh. i really think people these days can’t really function their brain. they’ve lost their linguistic ability. that’s why any diplomatic attempt to quell disputes fails. what we have  now is rocket or stone or bomb  diplomacy. as the result, we listen to death, blasted buildings, burn down homes, suicide bombings, raped gilrs on tv every day.

well i m gonaa sing this song from the black eyed peas (they are american, no?)

what’s wrong with the world mama?

people living like ain’t got no mamas?

i think the whole worlds addicted to the drama

only attracted to the things that bring you trauma

where is the love?

haven’t written anything serious lately. it seems that everyone is in the holiday mood and so i am. we just had christmas. and tomorrow muslims will celebrate hijriyyah new year.

but, i reckon those in gaza strip do not enjoy the festivity mood at all. how could they throw a party if their homes  are horribly bombarded by the israeli combatants. yeah the whole world but the us of a  condemns this brutal act. the us of a  authority thru its mouthpiece cnn told the whole world that israel attacked gaza in defence of their own people.  it is because hamas attacked “the innocent israelis first” but they did not want to see more violence. sigh, so lame.

no body has any right to inflict pain to other people, that’s what i believe. if the israeli soldiers want to hunt down hamas go hunt them but leave civilians alone. i give no heck  since both israeli soldiers and hamas combatants determin to kill each other. but again, leave civilians alone.

but look what is happening now? they are exterminating defenseless civilians in gaza. that’s is the real crime against humanity.

to be honest i don’t sympathize any warring party whether it is the israel or hamas. both of them are blood thirsty war lords. excuse moi you may  disagree with me.

don’t you tell me that i am not a good muslim because i don’t side hamas. the eternal war happening in that region is never about religion. you are stupid if you believe so. no true religion will encourage its believers to rage wars. the conflict between israel and palestina is merely the problem of land and therefore nation and the war lords’ egoism.

ya ya ya i don’t have to give a long lecture on how the jews were expelled from their land long long time ago and become the world’s first and largest diaspora until today. now these diaspora want to go back to their homeland and oh-too-bad- expelled those who inhabited that land to the sea.

how could u do that? why can’t you live side by side in harmony? why do u want exterminate the entire nation for the existence of your own? i just can’t digest it.

but what is happening now in gaza must stop.

this is my new new year wish: o lord i wish all living war lords meet their death next year amen.

oh my, oh may i am officially mad rite now and ready to explode at any slightest provocation.

highway  can be very dangerous when brengsek people use it. god almighty, it’s been almost three years i never use this word. nobody in this bolehland will get offended when i address them with this word except they are indonesian. that’s way i choose not to use it. useless.

but today i am gonna use that word. to any individual who has hit agung and just run, you are brengsek!!! gua bilang lu brengsek!!! gua katai lu brengsek!!! elo brengsek. titik.

yesterday morning my friend agung got and accident. it was a hit and run apparently. he was riding his motorcycle to his work place near putrajaya when a car hit him and …and… just run like a chicken. dasar brengsek.

this is the complete story. he was hit around 7 in the morning on his way to his work place. he only gained his consciousness at 12 and found himself at serdanghospital. who brought him there nobody knows. probably someone took a pity to see him laying on the ground blood-soaked and alone. nobody amongst us knew about his accident until hospital serdang hospitally called his workplace relating his predicament.

to tell you the truth, i haven’t seen him yet. but i managed to talk to him via phone. he told me that he received numerous stitches along his both cheeks,  neck and his inner mouth.  the x ray reveals that there are some fractures in his finger bones. i think i would not recognize him when i see him tomorrow.

bah, what a bad experience for agung. and bah, hope that tabrak lari fellas get torn by a tiger or swallowed by a piton or crunched by a crocodile. bah…………

honestly, deep down, i do not hate the culprit. i know shits happen. but don’t be brengsek please. after you hit him, be responsible. at least call the ambulance. take him to a hospital. by doing so, you actually save your ass from further mistake, a murder.

if you call an ambulance and the medics save his life, your only crime is driving recklessly. the sentence is not that hard i guess. but you run and left  him there waiting for his death. you might kill him. i suppose the judge will sentence you to rot in jail. geddit!!!

duh, please deh jangan brengsek. and please don’t drive brengsek-ly. it’s dangerous for you and other people. sigh.
